I don’t know how many times people have told me that Christmas was originally a pagan holiday that was ‘appropriated’ by Christians. Most of the time it is atheists who seem to feel that since this a fact, it means that Christianity is somehow fraudulent. I doubt there is any chance that this article, and certainly nothing I could say, would ever change the minds of people who are single-minded in their determination to disprove the truth of Christianity. The sad thing is, as this article points out, the number of Christians who believe this story.

Many Christians think that Christians celebrate Christ’s birth on December 25th because the church fathers appropriated the date of a pagan festival.
